Part of a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) lateral suture system, designed for effective management of CCL rupture. This widely adopted technique offers a relatively quick procedure with outcomes comparable to other surgical methods, providing strong immediate post-operative stability while minimising risk to intra-articular structures.
The system uses heavy monofilament nylon placed laterally to stabilise the stifle. A metal crimp tube replaces the need for bulky knots, allowing controlled tensioning and secure fixation using crimping forceps. The suture is positioned behind the lateral fabella and passed through the tibial tubercle for optimal support.
