Part of a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) lateral suture system, designed for the effective treatment of CCL rupture. This widely used technique offers a relatively quick procedure with outcomes comparable to alternative surgical methods, delivering strong immediate post-operative stability while minimising risk to intra-articular structures.
The system utilises heavy monofilament nylon placed laterally to stabilise the stifle. A metal crimp tube replaces the need for bulky knots, allowing controlled tensioning and secure fixation using crimping forceps. The suture is positioned behind the lateral fabella and passed through the tibial tubercle to achieve optimal stabilisation.
