EDAN WATER TRAP

192636

Features:

  • It serves as a dewatering cup that effectively separates and captures moisture, condensation, and secretions from the patient’s exhaled gas sample. This protects the monitor’s sensitive internal sensor from humidity and fluid damage.
  • Advanced Dual-Membrane Design: The water trap features two semi-permeable membranes that are gas-permeable but liquid-impermeable. When fluids contact these membranes, gas flow resistance safely increases to completely block moisture from passing into the monitor.
  • Low Sampling Rate Optimization: It is precisely engineered to work alongside Edan’s proprietary iCARB™ algorithm, allowing accurate capnography tracking at an ultra-low sampling flow rate of just 50 mL/min. This minimizes sample gas consumption, making it ideal for everything from neonatal to adult patients.

Practical Maintenance Tips

  1. Installation: Fix the clear plastic water trap firmly into the dedicated holder located on the left side panel of your X Series monitor before attaching the sampling line or nasal cannula.
  2. Blockage Alarms: If the monitor triggers a occlusion or CO2 alarm, check the dewatering cup. When the internal membranes become heavily saturated with moisture, they intentionally constrict airflow to protect the machine, signaling that it is time for a replacement.
  3. Storage: Keep a replacement box on hand, as they are typically distributed in medical supply packs of 10. Always double-check your physical monitor’s side port configuration to ensure a secure click-in seal.
