Digital Radiography
TruDR lx Digital Radiography Equine
The benefits of Digital Radiography are well known. Instant images, no cassettes, and superior image quality are just a few. Vendors have historically provided these benefits via repackaged medical units and entrepreneurial sales zeal. Veterinarians wanted more. Sound Technologies took the challenge.
Sound Technologies set out to develop a new digital radiography solution, from the ground up, specifically for veterinarians. We began with a blank sheet of paper and open ears. Users of first generation systems consistently provided the same wish list; a smaller form factor, fewer cables, embedded PACS, greater speed, upgradeability, veterinary-specific work flow, improved image quality, and a "barn-proof", temperature stable solution. We delivered.
Our strategy was simple. Invest resources into creating the perfect field imaging tool without the limitations of an imperfect starting point.
The result is TruDR™. Enjoy.

Digital Radiography TruDR dx Small Animal
| |
|

TruDR dx is a revolutionary step forward in small animal digital radiography
You need a Digital Radiography system that is easy for your techs to learn and to use. It should be fast enough to maximize efficiency. You need a system that takes perfect images every time, making lesions clearly visible that you otherwise may have missed. You need a DR solution that integrates into your veterinary practice and makes every step from ordering a study, to making a diagnosis, to sharing the film with a radiologist or client, seamless.
You need TruDR dx.
|
|

|
TruDR dx integrates seamlessly with any DICOM conformant Practice Management Software through modality worklists
That means when a digital radiograph is ordered in the Practice Management System, the order, complete with all patient information, appears on the TruDR acquisition station. The patient is selected and the technician chooses the anatomy and view on the touch-screen monitor using a picture of the proper species. They then set the generator to one of only a few techniques and click. In 3.5 seconds, a perfect digital x-ray image appears on the screen. If positioning is incorrect, they can reshoot immediately, without ever letting go of the patient. With Sound Adaptive LUT technology there are no exposure errors.
When the exam is complete it is instantly sent to any servers that are currently selected. One copy goes to the local server so you can review it instantly anywhere in the practice. You may view it in your office, using Reveal Advanced Viewing Software or show the client in the exam room using your Practice Management Software. Another copy can go to darkhorsemed.com so you, your colleagues and your clients can access the images on the internet. And maybe another copy is sent to your radiologist’s server or a server at another clinic. Your perfect images are everywhere you need them and it is completely automated and customized to your needs. With TruDR dx, taking perfect digital radiographs is faster and simpler than drawing blood, expressing anal glands, or cleaning ears! The only problem is that your technicians may fight over who gets to shoot the radiographs.

TruDR dx™ Superior Results
Your diagnostic confidence is only as strong as your digital x-ray images. Starting with the world’s most advanced flat panel radiographic receptor panels (available in either 12”x16” or 17”x17”), the extraordinary sensitivity of TruDR dx collects superior raw data with minimal noise using incredibly low exposures.
This data then has noise removed and is enhanced uniquely using the worlds most advanced Multi-Frequency Domain Tuning (MFDT) technology to create a digital radiography image that is unrivaled. This industry leading image quality can only be achieved by leveraging Sound Engineering, combined with the largest team of radiologists and other consulting veterinarians ever wielded in the development of a vet imaging solution.
|
Perfect image quality is achieved by enabling the human eye to harvest the maximum Raw Data tissue resolution in an image. To accomplish this goal, the TruDR dx™ Detector first acquires unprecedented levels of Raw Data tissue resolution. Then, SoundVu Tissue Equalization maximizes this Raw Data by reducing non-structural "noise" to provide TruDR users unobstructed viewing of tissue detail. At the same time, SoundVu enhances tissue signals, contrast, edges, borders, dynamic compression and other valuable diagnostic data. In this way, the SoundVu patented core technology delivers bone and soft tissue with equal clarity in one image. Adjacent and overlying structures are seen with perfect clarity. Perfect image quality is achieved.
After the TruDR dx™ detector captures the digital signal, that signal is then processed into a viewable digital x-ray image by applying LUTs (Look Up Tables). The image can then be further tuned and enhanced.
LUTS (Look-Up-Tables)
LUTs are applied to raw data acquired from an acquisition device. In order to apply shades of gray (grayscale values) based upon exposure levels to create a viewable image. Most systems apply some sort of LUT.
The application of LUTs, combined with plate sensitivity, determines the latitude of an image.
Image Tuning
After the LUT is applied, the image can be tuned in various ways to optimize its diagnostic quality. Diagnostic quality is dependent on three factors:
Latitude (determined by LUTs and plate sensitivity)
Noise (Speckle or grain artifacts)
Detail (Ability to clearly differentiate very small structures).
